This was the crunch end of the season.
Having finished first in zone B, Manawatu 1 travelled to Counties Manukau to face Waikato 2, Auckland 3 and Wellington 1 in the North Island Finals.
Manawatu 1 played Waikato 2 winning by one set after being 8-8. Wellington 1 lost to Auckland 3 by 5 sets after being 8-8.
Manawatu 1 then faced Auckland 3 for the North Island title, losing 4-12 with many tight matches (Waikato 2 beat Wellington 1 14-2 in the 3/4 match)

(In 2007 promotion matches, Manawatu 1 faced Auckland 3 in the first match, losing 4-12, with nine three-set matches in the tie, and then beat Counties Manukau 1 in the 3/4 playoff by a few sets after an 8-8 result.)

  2008
Competition comprised seven teams in a round-robin format over three weekends.
Manawatu 2 finished third behind Eastland and Hutt Valley 2.
