AMI Wellington Junior Open Championship Results - July 24 - 25
Angela Miller - Quarter Finalist U13 Girls Singles
Results from this competition held on Saturday and Sunday July 24 & 25 will give our Central Region coaches much to think about.
Congratulations to Ruawai Te Rata who won the U17 Girls Doubles Title, The U17 Mixed Doubles Title, and was runner up in the U17 Girls singles.
Other notable results for Manawatu players were:
U13s
Cameron Loughran made the quarter finals of the boys singles.
Angela Miller made the quarter finals of girls singles
Caitlin Bartosh & Amy Rogers finished midfield in the girls doubles
Wei Lim & Caitlin Bartosh made the semi-finals of the mixed doubles.
These results confirmed what we already know. It is tough for our under 13s at Central Regions level. Many of our players have a year or two to go in this grade and will be stronger and tougher next year.
U15s
Ehsan Tehseen, Jonathan Tan, Sang Ho Kim, Matt Wapp all made it to the quarter finals in the boys singles. Sang Ho made it to the semi-finals where he lost a tough 3 setter.
Sang Ho & Kristen Taylor reached the semi-finals of the mixed doubles.
Sang Ho & Matt Wapp, Brandon Rose & Ehsan Tehseen reached the semi-finals of the boys doubles.
Danielle Skarott & Caragh Alley reached the semi-finals of the girls doubles.
U17s
Joseph Wilson & Scott Ormond made it to the semi-finals in the boys doubles.
The improvement shown by Wellington Players, Jamie Young, Hamish Francis and U15 player Wei-Ming Lim is a positive development for our Central Region players and will provide extra motivation for all our Manawatu players next year.
