Manawatu Junior wins school sports award

Ruawai Te Rata won Awatapu College's Junior Sportsperson of the Year award on Wed 9 December 2009.

She is the first person in the history of the award to get it 2 years running (she also won it last year as a year 9 student).

The award recognises Ruawai's badminton achievements, including Manawatu U15 Badminton Rep, Central Region June Bevan Team and her Manawatu Secondary Schools nomination. She also represented the school at athletics, cross
country, swimming and volleyball.
